Website Redesign and Rebuild for Irish Businesses

If your website is dated, slow, awkward on a phone or simply not producing enquiries, the answer is rarely a fresh coat of paint. A redesign should keep the parts that already work — your domain, your recognition, the content that earns visits — and rebuild everything that is holding the business back.

Rebuilds are handled directly by Niall Hackett, with a written quotation and an agreed page plan before any work starts.

Setup tiers and monthly plans are listed in full on the pricing page. The monthly care plan is a separate ongoing cost.

Signs It Is Time

Eight Reasons Irish Businesses Rebuild a Website

Most sites needing replaced show several of these at once. Recognising which ones apply to you makes the conversation about scope much shorter.

It falls apart on a phone

Text you have to pinch to read, buttons too small to hit, a menu that will not open. Most first visits are on a mobile, so a desktop-only design loses people before they ever see what you offer.

It is slow to load

Usually oversized images, a pile of unused plugins or heavy embedded scripts. People on mobile data give a slow page a couple of seconds at best.

The content is out of date

Services you no longer offer, prices that have changed, old staff, a dead phone number or a copyright year from several years ago. Every one of those quietly suggests the business is not on top of things.

Nobody can find what they came for

Too many menu items, services buried three clicks deep, or one long page that mixes everything together. Confused visitors do not persevere — they go back to the search results.

It gets visits but no enquiries

The traffic arrives and nothing happens. Normally the calls to action are weak or hidden, the form asks too much too early, or the page never gives a reason to make contact today.

It looks less credible than your competitors

When someone compares three suppliers, the dated site loses on appearance before anyone reads a word. For higher-value work, that judgement is made in seconds.

Nobody can maintain it any more

The developer has moved on, the login is lost, the platform is unsupported or updates break things. A site that cannot be changed cannot serve the business.

It is invisible in search

No clear page structure, duplicated or missing page titles, thin content and no location signals. There is often nothing for Google to rank in the first place.

Protect

What Is Kept

  • Your domain name and the recognition attached to it
  • Content and pages that already attract visits
  • Your branding, unless you want it revisited
  • Business email on your domain, handled carefully through the move
  • Any genuine reviews, accreditations and proof you already hold
Rebuild

What Gets Fixed

  • Mobile layout, readability and tap targets
  • Page speed, oversized images and unnecessary scripts
  • Site structure, navigation and how services are separated
  • Page titles, descriptions and heading hierarchy
  • Enquiry forms, WhatsApp contact and calls to action
  • Ongoing hosting, SSL and technical care after launch
The Approach

How a Careful Rebuild Is Handled

A redesign carries a risk a brand new website does not: you already have something to lose. These four stages exist to make sure the rebuild is an improvement rather than a reset.

  1. 1

    Review what you have now

Existing pages, structure, content, contact routes and where enquiries currently come from. The point is to identify what is worth keeping — dropping something that quietly works is the most common redesign mistake.

  2. 2

    Agree the new structure

Which pages the business actually needs, what each one is for, and which service or location pages deserve to stand on their own. You see the plan and the quotation before the build starts.

  3. 3

    Rebuild and migrate carefully

The new website is designed and built while the current one stays live. Worthwhile content is carried across and page addresses are mapped so anything that moves can be redirected rather than lost.

  4. 4

    Launch and then measure

The site goes live once you approve it, on your existing domain. From the Business Growth Care plan upwards, analytics, Search Console and enquiry tracking give you monthly reporting rather than guesswork.

The general project steps are the same as any build — there is more detail on how it works, and examples of finished websites on our work.

Redesign or Repair?

Sometimes a Rebuild Is Not the Answer

If the structure and design are basically sound and the real problem is neglected content, out-of-date information or nobody looking after the hosting, that is a maintenance and content issue rather than a rebuild. It is worth saying so before you spend money on a new website you did not need.

A rebuild makes sense when the design, mobile experience, structure or platform is the limiting factor — when no amount of editing the current site will fix what is wrong.

Related: small business website design if you are effectively starting again, or lead generation websites if the site looks fine but produces nothing.

Judging It by Results, Not Opinions

"Do you like the new design?" is the least useful question about a redesign. What matters is whether more of the right people make contact. From the Business Growth Care plan upwards, Google Analytics, Search Console, enquiry tracking and automatic monthly reporting are set up so that question has an answer.

Reporting begins once the required analytics, consent and enquiry-tracking systems are configured. No specific search position or ranking can be guaranteed by anyone.

FAQ

Website Redesign Questions

Will a redesign damage the rankings we already have?

It can, if it is done carelessly. The usual causes are changed page addresses with no redirects in place, useful content dropped during the rebuild, and page titles and headings rewritten without reference to what was already working. A redesign should map the old pages to the new ones, redirect anything that moves, and carry the content that earns visits across rather than starting from a blank page.

Can you rebuild it without changing our branding?

Yes. Plenty of businesses are happy with their logo, colours and name recognition and only want the structure, speed, layout and enquiry flow fixed. If you have brand guidelines or a logo file, the rebuild works within them.

Do we have to move away from our current provider or platform?

Your new website is built on the platform I support, which is what makes the monthly Website Care plan possible. Your domain stays yours. If you have email on the domain, that is handled carefully so it keeps working through the move.

What if we cannot get access to the old website?

It happens more often than you would think — the person who built it is gone, or the login belongs to a former employee. A rebuild does not require access to the old site's admin area. Your domain access is the part that matters, and I will tell you exactly what is needed and who to ask for it.

How do we know whether the new site is actually better?

By measuring it rather than judging it on looks. From the Business Growth Care plan upwards, Google Analytics and Search Console are set up along with enquiry tracking and automatic monthly reporting, so enquiries and search visibility can be compared over time instead of guessed at.

Is a redesign more expensive than a new website?

Not usually. It is priced on the same packages as any other build — the setup tiers and monthly care plans on the pricing page. What can add cost is a large number of existing pages to review and migrate, or content that needs substantial rewriting before it is worth carrying over.

Will the site be down during the changeover?

The new website is built and reviewed separately while your current one keeps running. It only replaces the old site once you have approved it and the launch conditions have been met, which keeps any interruption to a minimum.

Broader questions about packages, timelines and support are answered on the FAQ page.
